Hi All,
Been an observer of these forums for a while now ... and now need some help.
This was seen in an urban garden - looks like a whichat - but would like some confirmation. Apologies for the terrible photos but hopefully there's enough to go on.

Looks like Whinchat - never had one in our garden in Poole when I was living there in the 70s! An unusual garden bird anywhere.

How common is it to have this much white on the throat/neck of adult male Redstarts?

They have the white feather-tip in autumn until winter. Then the white gets "worn away" and the male redstart becomes the beauty it is in spring/summer.

Cheers ... obviously I don't see as many redstarts in the autumn as I ought to!
