Hawaii is now officially part of the ABA birding area (1 Viewer)

Vote held and finalized today, with 80% of the 2000+ votes approving the addition of Hawaii to the ABA area.

For big years, this will technically go in effect in 2017 (Past big years will still count, for both the ABA region in general as well as for a classical/continental/whatever they name it region that represents the old ABA area.

The addition of Hawaii to the ABA area will result in the addition of 80+ new birds to the checklist. Full details not available yet.
