Red-breasted sapsucker? (coastal California)
Hello all- I've lived on my central coastal California property for nearly 40 years, and have never noticed this bird. Doesn't mean it hasn't been around. There are Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers here, and Acorn Woodpeckers, and Northern Flickers, but these look different. The picture was taken this morning. Could these be Red-breasted Sapsuckers? Thanks!
