Iraq Camp Erbil Kurdistan (1 Viewer)

Kurdistan is green; it isn’t like Iraq which is barren mostly. The camp backs onto the airport and has quite a bit of swampy ground with small lakes. Here we have Sandpipers, lots of different ones I haven’t seen before, also Plovers Redshanks and curlews, the odd Avocet and I thought I saw a Ruff but not 100% on that one. There are lots of birds of prey here, Kestrels, Sparrow hawks, Peregrine Falcons and Buzzards, lots and lots of them. I have never been good at identifying Buzzards.
