Hello Everyone, my name is Martin, I live in South Wales (UK) and have just joined the forum. This is my first (ever) attempt at opening a thread. i am looking for some information regarding the European Goldfinch. over the past few weeks my partner and have have been watch a flock of Goldfinches feeding in a field adjacent to our property. they are too far away to photograph with my primitive camera but i have managed to a some video footage of them in flight. we estimate between 40 and 50 in number. I've never seen this many in one place before. is this a normal occurrence please?

Welcome Martin!
Yes, a lot of the finch species pass the non- breeding seasons in flocks like your Goldfinches, I’m jealous of your 40 to 50 though, I only get up to 20 where we live!
