Taken on the south coast of England this morning. I saw this little fly, poor thing moved slightly sideways (really slowly) when I brushed my hand against him. He seemed not to care that my cat was about to eat him.
Then I gave him some sugar water, that was more sugar than water. He ate (sucked) for a bit. Then he flew off
Is he a Syrphus ribesii male?
Photos are rubbish it was through mesh, in the fog & I'm a beginner (camera is Panasonic DMC-TZ30EB-K Compact Camera) had no time to get the proper camera.
