Sunbird - Zambia (1 Viewer)

I would have called it Amethyst and put the green tinge down to a bit of foliage between the camera and the bird. Problem is in August, Copper will not be in full colour which makes it a bit tricky without a nice clear shot.

I agree, Is it a different race to one's I've seen which always appear black?

I honestly don’t know. I know the South African one is a different subspecies and the only difference is that it has iridescent feathers on the rump which our Zim birds don’t. To the eye they normally just look black. With a photo in reasonable light you’ll see the iridescence as in your pic.
 
The OP bird is a Scarlet-chested sunbird. You can actually just see the breast colour and the brownish wings are typical too (and not seen in Amethyst as far as I recall).

General plumage fits better from pics on Google but SASOL is very misleading.
