pod weight? (1 Viewer)

tripod weight?

What is a reasonable max weight limit to shot for when looking at tripods for digiscoping?

The weight limit I've seen on Gitzo are: 13.2lb -> 17.6lb -> 26.5lb

26 seems like overkill. Is 17 even worth it? Or is 13 enough? I'd rather not waste my money or carry extra weight if its not worth it.

That would put me around a Gitzo 2227 or Bogen(3444D)/Manfrotto(441) (if I went carbon fiber) for those that go by model and not max weight.
