Kangaroo Island, September 2007 (1 Viewer)

As an Australian, the Island should be named Road Kill Island. Driving through much of Australia I have never seen so much road kill. I almost was tempted to remake my signature dish, Mongolian Skippy!
Bird life was poor, conditions are very dry.
Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos were very abundant, alas, not one Glossy was seen.
Cape Barren Geese were in abundance. Painted Finch were abundant at Cape Borda. The Curlew were screaming at the Western Caravan Park.
At best we added to our life list, Eastern Reef Egret, Painted Finch and another small brown job that does not want to be identified.
Get there and do it. Kangaroo Island is great.

cheers

Hi there PF:
I have!!
Loved it & will go back again someday. Dipped on the Glossies too. But other stuff was great, & the mammals too (got Echidna & Koala there as well as the Sea Lions & Seals)
