The month gave us 95 species with four being new for the year an Imm/ Female Goshawk flew through, the Valleys second record of Yellow Browed Warbler with a possibility of a second bird based on two seemingly separate calls near North island on the 19th, three Whooper swans dropped in on the 20th departing early the next morning and a Hawfinch low over Dartmouth Park on the 22nd. The ringed Little Egret was still with us all month and an interesting record of a Common Gull ringed on 18/09/2019 at Oslo Norway was in the Valley on the 26th, 5 Swallow over Forge Mill mid month 4 Little Egret on Forge Mill, Rock pipit over Forge Mill and later over Dartmouth park and a second bird a couple of days later for possibly five days, 4 Stonechat Swan pool 1 along the River, 5 Salters and a 1 near the pet cemetery, a sign Autumn was definitely with us with the first returning Siskin, Redpoll and 350+ Redwing moved through on the 16th, the first Fieldfare on the 21st with 16 birds, Common Sandpiper still with us early in the month, 2 Raven over Forge Mill several times, Mediterranean Gull on Forge Mill islands for most of the month, 2 male Red Crested Pochard on Swan pool for one day only, 4 different Common Gull, Jack Snipe, the last day of the month saw a Great White Egret fly down the River, best counts being 160+ Coot, 100+ Skylark through in the month, 36 Teal, 27 Shoveler, 26 Pochard, 18 Snipe, 17 Wigeon, 10 Goosander, 10+ Meadow pipit 6 Chiffchaff. 3 Mandarin, and a single Greylag,

A new valley record count for Cormorant was set today with 80+ birds coming into roost on Forge Mill from around 3 O'clock with singles still coming in a 4:30

Also seen today Goosander 50+, Pochard c30, Ring Necked Parakeet 50+, Snipe c20, Kingfisher x2 Jack Snipe, Little Egret,Common Gull (Ringed Bird), Barnacles x9, Pintail, Water Rail x2 heard per P.Hackett, Tawny Owl heard per Wali and Raven per Wali
