pullchellum or puella? (1 Viewer)

This bluet I found a little confusing, due mainly to the complete antihumeral stripes, despite this I had favouring id as pulchellum due to abdominal markings, the y mark appearing adjoined at base. Now I am not so sure, the spiked dark marks suggested at sides of abdomen seem to suggest puella. Do pulchellum show complete antihumerals on occasion or is this puella?

Thanks in advance...

Looks like puella to me. I'd expect incomplete antehumerals and a stem on the s2 marking otherwise. I wasn't aware there was much difference in the abdomenal sides but I have no literature to hand at the moment.

When I look at the pronotum I can (I think!) see a clear wavy line which would also indicate puella. Do you have a shot from a different angle?

I wouldn't worry about the antehumerals - here's a pic of three males taken on the same day at the same location.

IMO this is pulchellum, one of the more puella like individuals that are sometimes known as "puellaformis" (cf. Dijkstra/Lewington).

The antehumeral stripes are not necessarily broken in pulchellum, but there definitely seems to be a 'stalk' on the S2 marking if you look closely, and, although not the best angle, I think that the hind margin of the pronotum is definitely sharply angled rather than rounded.
