Which hawk Costa Rica? (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know which hawk this is? Gray Hawk?
I saw it last year in Palo Verde in Costa Rica.

The split is certainly true. Bob, thanks for finding the essay on identifying these birds, I had not read this. Even though the difference is subtle, I actually think what is shown in the image is supporting the id as Gray rather than Gray-lined (presence of dark trailing edge of wings, width of tail bands).
