Owls of Ontario (1 Viewer)

Hello! I've seen each of the 11 owls of Ontario in captivity, and the Great Horned and Eastern Screech in the wild. I actually see the screech fairly often where I live :) I was inspired to do these paintings and continue my search to find them all! Each owls was completed using oil paint on a 5x7 panel. I then compiled them into an 11x14 image. Next, I'll be looking for the Barred owl, which is apparently fairly common a few towns away. Wish me luck!

Best tip for Barred Owl (and most other owls!) is to learn their calls / hoots. Listen to recordings online until you feel familiar with them.

I agree! I have conversed with Barred owls at my family's cottage. They are quite talkative (Eastern screech owls are too) :) Sometimes I wonder what I'm saying to them. Now I just have to see one. Wish me luck!
