This is a fake shot, surely - petrels? (1 Viewer)

I am not enough of a pelagic expert to ID the species, but surely these are petrels superimposed in front of the aircraft? Photo seen on an aviation forum on facebook, so I have no info on the purported location or date.

(Lufthansa A380, I can ID that bird well enough).

Agree with some kind of sandpipers, and I would like to point out that the photo was almost certainly taken with a powerful telephoto lens (else the photographer would be standing in the middle of the runway). As such, the birds may be significantly farther ahead of the aircraft than the photo would convey at a casual glance.

PS My attempts to find the original photo turned up quite a few definite fakes. The photo-editing is generally quite good, it's the origin and details of the story that give them away. (e.g., some social media account in Mali reporting totally implausible bird behavior during a flight in Hungary...)

Any links?

Agree pic in OP looks perfectly normal.
