Had a good slog round this morning. 3 Greylag on Ice House, looks like one bird guarding a nest somewhere, Yellow Wag on Swan Pool Meadow, Raven and Peregrine over Forge Mill Farm, Pheasant heard on Brown’s. The pleasant surprise was a pair of Linnet nest building on Brown’s per Matt Hadlington

Hard Slog

With many Valley regulars not being available all day I new from the off it was going to be a long hard slog with my limited ability I was restricted in how much area I could cover, but we had a good go anyway by mid day we had clocked up 78 species. The main highlights of the day being Wheatear, Whinchat, Yellow Wagtail, Redstart, Hobby, Red Kite, Stonechat and Peregrine we kept at it with birders in the field from 07:00 till 19:00 clocking up 84 species. I myself clocked up nine hours and 67 species. several birds missing which could have been possible Common Tern, Common Sandpiper, Snipe, Sand Martin, Little Egret and Meadow Pipit Thanks to Hughie King, Matt Hadlington, Terry Parker, Mel Jones, Colin Sedgwick, Roger Jones, Dave Waite, Colin Groves, Alex Shared, Wali Taylor, Carl Seabode, Dean Hall, Alf Hill, Ben Bensley, Tim Hextell and John Clarke if I've missed your name I'm Sorry
