In this hot weather, access to water can be critical for birds as puddles, ponds and streams run low. Leaving out a shallow bowl of water will help garden birds, though it should be sited so that birds can see any approaching predators.

On the bird front I spent an hour in the hide today LRP x4, Lapwing c8, Common Sandpiper, Teal and Pochard x2

Really sad to hear that. It would be nice to have some sort of memorial to remember him by.

This is my first ever shot of a snipe, I remember sitting next to Pete in the hide. He was telling me all about them whilst I was taking these shots. He was also the one who talked me into volunteering in the hide! 😀 Paul Aggett
