at about 11am this morning, to my utter delight and surprise a red kite landed briefly in my back garden. it looked huge in my 50x50 foot rear garden, now my house is in the middle of a housing estate and red kites often overfly , and i feed most of the birds with seed only. so what had prompted this visit ? . it seems the kite was attracted by a turkey carcass my wife had put out for the birds to peck . now i know about the dangers of feeding kites, so this is stictly a accidental one off, but to see this bird in the soft winter sunshine was a real joy. kind regards, and a happy new to all. stuart. :bounce:
