A Falcon in East Grinstead (1 Viewer)

I am just posting these pics to see if I am correct. I think it is a falcon. Just seen it in my garden enjoying itself on a starling! Could anyone confirm that it is indeed a falcon please.

Hi, welcome to birdforum, it's a Sparrowhawk, falcons are a slightly different group of birds of prey. Nice catch with the camera though.

Great - thanks. Been living here for just over a year and this is the first time I have seen anything like it. Although I have seen a few pigeon feathers laying around! Do you think its likely to return now that its had a successful catch?
 
It will if it knows there is a ready source of food there but may be a while between visits. I have had a pair around our garden for years (may be into the next generation now). Seem to prefer the Collared Doves but I've seen them take other things too
