Nicaragua cross-crountry canal (1 Viewer)

Hard to say but latest I have heard is that the project is not that feasible. I hope it doesn't go through as planned because it will certainly impact biodiversity in one of the most important remaining areas of rainforest in Central America.

Can't comment on the practicality (or lack thereof) of this project; but the appalling environmental cost, if it does go ahead, is a certainty!

Would be like putting an oil field in the Amazon - whoops, guess they're doing that already...

The new channel will be ... — and the rights to any natural resources in the area.

This part might be enough to get the company interested, no matter if they never make a canal that actually works. And of course, that means bye-bye to the rainforest in a wide swat along the planned line. Appalling.
