Baby robin (1 Viewer)

Hi. I just found your site, it's great. My kids rescued a baby robin from a neighbors dog earlier today. We have tried putting him in a tree, but he won't stay. I'm pretty sure his mom is keeping an eye on him, but she won't come close. I have two cats (I have them inside my house right now to keep the bird safe, but they can't stay in). My kids have fed him a couple of worms and he looks healthy. Any suggestions on how to keep him safe? Thanks, Jule B :)

Hi Jule and on behalf of the staff here at BirdForum.net, a warm welcome. Though I am sorry it was an emergency that brought you here.

If the parent is anywhere around, it would be best for both to put the baby bird back near momma. Do you have any old easter baskets or plastic hanging pots that you could hang on the limb of a tree with the little robin inside it?
