Sunday Bird Walk, October 20, 2002, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Nanaimo River Estuary.

Observers: Sunday morning birders ( fourteen of us)

Weather: Foggy, drizzle, rain, about 10º C

Number of Species: 29

Highlights: It was rain gear and gumboot time with frequent wipings of scopes and binoculars. But we had great looks at the Bald Eagles, Northern Harriers, Northern Shrikes, a Peregrine Falcon and the brilliant yellow-breasted Western Meadowlark and that made it all worthwhile!
