Which one to buy? (1 Viewer)

Curious George

I originally posted this question in the Nikon forum but thought I should post it here to get both sides.
I was looking to buy a new set of binoculars and was thinking of either the Leupold 8x30 or the Nikon 8x40 Action EX WP. The price is very close, so I'm not torn either way. I know pretty much nothing about binoculars, but from what I understand the 8x40 should be a bit brighter than the 8x30. The Leupold would be a bit lighter. For general use and hunting....which would be better?
