Hi folks,

Went round to the garage early afternoon and there hopping along the front of the roof was a female Chaffinch with a beakful of nest-lining material. She stood and looked at me and then went up onto next doors roof edge where I managed to take this.

Probably a late breeder as second broods unusual, although hens will lay a second clutch in the first nest if the first is destroyed/robbed.

Anyway, I now look forward to the eventual flutter of tiny Chaffinch wings (in about 28 days time).

Bill.

Hi dear Bill,

Well noticed, photographed too. We've had one doing much the same with Mr singing to his heart's content in the Birch tree. Such pretty Birds and a surprising amount of colours in them too. Keep clicking Bill.

Love, Sue.
