Hi folks,
Went round to the garage early afternoon and there hopping along the front of the roof was a female Chaffinch with a beakful of nest-lining material. She stood and looked at me and then went up onto next doors roof edge where I managed to take this.
Probably a late breeder as second broods unusual, although hens will lay a second clutch in the first nest if the first is destroyed/robbed.
Anyway, I now look forward to the eventual flutter of tiny Chaffinch wings (in about 28 days time).
Bill.
