Request help to id baby gull species Jersey, Channel Islands (1 Viewer)

Dear colleagues
The heading says it all really.
The photo was taken a few years ago. I guess it might be a Herring Gull or a Lesser Black Backed Gull or something similar, but am not sure.
Please does anyone know which species this would be.

Sorry you didn't get a reply earlier. Nestling LBB/Herring gulls(/Caspian/Yellow-legged etc.) are almost impossible to ID in mixed colonies: Chicks are mobile around the colony very quickly and ringers marking chicks in said colonies often simply record the majority species present. I can tell you that the brown tone to the mature feathers showing through the downy fluff should rule out Great Black-backed Gulls, who are very much monochrome. Other than that you're relying on identifying the adult birds around the chicks.
