Malta birding (1 Viewer)

Hi all
I'm off to Malta in a couple of weeks. Was wondering if anyone had info or links on the best nature reserve, or best place to see passerines. Target species include:Bee Eater, Golden Oriole and Turtle Dove. We won't have a car and will be reliant on public transport.

Thanks in advance

Hi John, I love birding on Malta. By far the best place to go is Ghadira Nature reserve, right next to Ghadira bus stop (buses to Mellieha or Crikewwa). It is only open to the public on Sat+Sun though.
Have a look here - https://birdlifemalta.org/nature-reserves/
For your target species, Buskett woods might be worth a try but not sure how to get there by bus.
Do get yourself a copy of Where to Watch Birds and other wildlife in Malta by Alex Casha and published by Birdlife Malta.
All the best,
Stephen
