Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me with s location I can see a starling murmuration locally, I'm in Nantwich so close to Cheshire/ Staffordshire border. Is it too early in the season?
Thanks,
Matthew

I was told there was a large Starling roost in Nantwich town centre?

Starling Roost

I will look out for that, I've only recently moved here. Don't they usually roost around reed beds though?

Starlings can roost in cities, there used to be a large roost in Birmingham, also they can roost on sea side piers, but Reedbeds are used widely, partuculary by continental Starlings coming in to the East coast of Britain in October.

Hi Matthew

Not too far away in Shropshire last Feb/Mar up to 20,000 were regularly seen nightly in the Meole Village area of Shrewsbury. Residents had to cover their cars each evening. I witnessed one of birdings greatest sights in a built up area. Well worth the journey from Bilston W Mids.
Google Shrewsbury Starlings for more info and pics.

Cheers Hughie.

An impressive Starling roost now taking place daily at Belvide viewable from the first hide. See Steve Nuttall's blog for details.

Pretty impressive stuff!
