Olympus OM-D E-M10 + Swaro TSL APO (1 Viewer)

Hallo together,

I read in this forum frequently - but since May 2014 I started with digiscoping by myself. My Equipment is the Swarovski STX95 + TLS APO Adapter + Oly OM E-M10. And I must say, that I'm very happy with the results. I tried also the DCBII - Adapter with the lens 45mm/1.8, but for me the combination with the TLS APO works better.

The distances were between 6-15m from the hide. So far, a distance up to 30m for me is a good choise for digiscoping - over that I have too much impact of weather conditions like wind and heat.

regards,
Mario

Thank's - when I said, shots over 30m I don't prefer , that doesn't mean that I didn't tried it |=)|.
But the weather must be clear to get good results. These fotos were taken between 30-50m.

regards,
Mario

Mostly, the the stabilizer is off - because the tripod and head are stable enough. But - yes in general the stabilizer works fine also with the TSL APO.

I spend one week on Island Helgoland, here are the results - Helgoland part 1.

Hello, very nice images! I've recently upgraded to Swarovski ATX85+APO and the Oly E-M10 is amongst my first options for coupling to it (I have an Oly EPL-1). Seeing these photos is a plus indeed!!

Can you suggest me a couple of settings for a first quick test at the photo store? From what I've read in this thread and others regarding this combo, selecting S mode, shooting high ISOs to allow high shutter speed, feeding to the camera info on lens focal (around 750 mm) seem to be some of them.

¿Any other important setting to have in mind for the test?¿Using the anti-shock option?

¿How do you zoom in the LCD screen view for achieving a better focus?

Thanks a lot,
Fernando

Hallo Fernando,

nice to hear that there are other people, that will use the EM-10 for digiscoping.

- Mostly I use the A and S-Mode and play with the iso-rate and shutter -
speed.
- If possible, I try to set the iso at least as possible for best quality.
- the antishock -Option to "0"
- remote control and a tripod is necessary
- I use only the ELV, you can activate the magnification via one of the FN-
Buttons / there I use the 10x Option , with that it is easy to find the right
sharpness

Mario
