Swarovski Providing a Substantial Repair Service

Some indication of Swarovski's current operations can be seen in the attached page from a new listing of a 1997 era SLC 8x50
It’s from the sales site ebay-kleinanzeigen.de (‘eBay classified ads. Germany’)

The page is dated 17th June 2020, and the repairs include replacing the housings on the SLC
The cost for the replaced parts and cleaning was around €700, all of which was free under warranty

Leica USA is now open for repairs, albeit a slow turnaround getting the full work force back, will be a bit slow and deliberate.

Swarovski Largely Back To Normal Operations

Googling around I came across the following:

‘ . . . The areas of the company that were closed in mid-March were gradually brought back up to speed.
Since June, we have been able to work largely in normal operation in Austria,
so that the usual busy clinking, whistling and hissing sounds can once again be heard in our production halls.'

It’s in a post dated 6th June entitled ‘Social distance - visual proximity'. Go to the end under the heading ‘New start after production stop’
The post can be found by starting at the top of Swarovski's main page and following > About Us > Corporate news;
or just click on the link: https://at.swarovskioptik.com/en_US/corporatenews/Social_distance_visual_proximity

It's likely that the other major European manufacturers are at a similar state of operations

p.s. I presume it's the machinery, and not the staff, making those noises!
