Barry.
New to birding and would appreciate any advice on good observing sites around Newcastle.
Also are there any local clubs in the area that I might be able to join for further advice and companionship on the odd occasion. Thanks in advance for any help. :t:

PS
Visited Derwent Reservoir and St Mary's light house, spotted:

Derwent:
Gold Finch
Lapwing
Meadow Pipit (I think)

St Mary's Lighthouse:
Teal
Coot
Grasshopper Warbler
Oyster Catcher
Cormorant
Mallard
Jackdaw.

Locally
Swifts
Magpie
etc.

Hi Barry

You could also have a look in Opus - there are quite a lot of articles for Northumberland, many of them within easy reach of Newcastle.

You can access them all from this page. I hope you find some of them useful.
