Introducing Myself (again...) (1 Viewer)

Hi!

This is my second post here - the first one was four years ago introducing myself then promptly never returning |>| so here I am again, reintroducing myself.

I'm Roo (Andrew properly) and I moved down to London a few years ago, and had the intent to go off and explore but never did, until this year following an autism diagnosis that helped me get some focus back into my life.

Since then I've got my year list up to 79 just by pottering around on my own, and branched out into butterflies, moths and a little of bit of everything else thanks to discovering PSL.

I'm hoping to start taking it all a little more seriously, and figured this was a good place to go to help make that happen!

Hi Roo and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Thank you everyone, I'm already doing better than last time just by replying haha!

My most recent on my year list was Black-necked Grebe last Saturday on Staines Reservoirs. Heading to Bushy Park tomorrow to look for owls and LS Woodpecker.

Oh stop it!!!!;) Why the 'eck did I ever leave London?!!!

I've only had very poor view of those grebes and not seen Lesser-spots in the UK yet!!! Such a rarity in these parts.

Greetings roo and a warm welcome back to Birdforum. :t:

Staines was one of my favourite birding locations when I lived in London. Reliable at this time of year for summer plumage Black-necked and Slavonian Grebes. So many other great locations in and around the capital too.

Unfortunately today was a bit of a bust on the bird front (unless you love Jackdaws anyway!) but I did see both species of wild deer in the park and a couple of moths and flies to try and identify, so I avoided total disaster.
