Help with bird ID, Wheeler Peak, NM USA (1 Viewer)

I need some help identifying this bird please. The picture was taken by a friend sometime in mid-September at the Wheeler Peak Wilderness Area in New Mexico, USA at about 10,000 feet. It looks like some kind of jay, possibly a Mexican, but would like help confirming its identify. Thank you.
