Glaucous Gull in the Tame Valley (Staffs/Warks) UK (1 Viewer)

There was an undoubted 2w Glaucous Gull in this area on January 28th, but a bird seen on 29th was also claimed as a 2w Glaucous Gull. For me it looks more like a leucistic Herring Gull. Although the pic is blurred, the bill lacks the sharp demarcation and the overall structure favours Herring.

Hi, its not a Glaucous Gull.It looks like either a leucistic Herring Gull or even just a slightly pale Herring...sometimes the underwing can look very pale on Argentatus.

cheers,S

Looks like a leucistic Herring to me, the adult taking off to the left of it is an argentatus type too showing a lot of white in the wingtip

Cheers

Dave
