Linnets good at bird of prey ID (1 Viewer)

Had a great morning out with my brother. We were out on farmland south of Gorebridge, Midlothian, and saw a kestrel on telegraph wires. Within a few minutes over 100 linnet landed on the wire right next to the kestrel! I was surprised at this, but I suppose kestrels don't often pick off birds. I guess Linnets must be able to distinuguish a kestrel from a sparrowhawk!
