    Eurasian Jay

This was the only shot I got before the bird flew. Somehow the camera focused successfully on the bird's eye and bill, bit of a fluke really. I wasn't even using single point AF. Stay safe and well, and good birding!

    Eurasian Jay

Taken yesterday. I don't know if it's the same bird I posted on Tuesday, but Jays seem particularly busy with acorns at the moment, presumably stashing them away as winter food. Thank you for your comments, stay safe and well. John

Very entertaining to watch them when an acorn is falling to the ground. They can become very nasty to each other.

Perfect "pose" for a blue jay: inquisitive and ready to investigate everything around him or her. We have plenty of these noisy and colorful jays in our backyard.
