    Overcast with strong wind - difficult conditions for photography (and for perching wheatears!)

    It took me ages manoeuvrings myself into a position ready for take off in anticipation of a decent flight picture. Then when it did fly this is what I got.......

    This wheatear was moulting heavily last week and it didn't have a ring on it's leg. He looks a bit smarter this week without those loose feathers, I'm not too sure about the leg bracelet though.

    This pied wheatear was in heavy moult and showing winter plumage. It make identification difficult, especially for me.
