While waiting for Wood Ducks to come into the mill pond I saw movement in the rocky shore area and the female Hooded Merganser appeared with her chicks. She stayed for a few moments then went over the dam and down the hill to the creek.

while trying to get closer to the pochard this guy flew in well i should say all 5 juveniles and dad chasing them.this was the only one i managed to capture.the soap opera has begun again trying to get rid of this years juvenile mute swans.
had to crop this.quite sunny today inbetween the clouds but cold.these pochards are arriving on the pond for winter so hopefully i will get a closer shot.
