The Rook had already seen what was going on, and the "tailings" from the Nutcracker's drilling work pretty much showed the Rook where to probe for edible treasure.
During Lockdow we were only allowed an hour's exercise a day, so I used to go out round the local streets, taking a different circuit each day.

The Rooks will steal cones from the Nutcrackers by chasing them off so fast the Nutcrackers drop them. Or they'll steal pine nuts the Nutcrackers have cached if they can find them. But sometimes they don't exactly steal, just pick over the remains of cones the Nutcrackers have left half-finished...
Technically probably not my best shot of a Rook, but that pose makes it stand out from the rest of the shots I took of them that day, at least.
