    A day 1 baby virginia rail tried to follow his dad to walk on the floating dead reeds, but he din't quite make it. Dad has to pick him up quickly and rushed him back to a safe place. This happened in a very short time, and I didn't quite make it too.

    A warm and sunny afternoon, after visiting Boundary Bay, dropped by and spent 3 hours waiting for this guy. A pair turned up on 4 occasions, but didn't stay long. One which I can appreciate the flexibility of the zoom (although I use full zoom for this shot).

    Seen on our Thursday Morning Group walk at Black Creek Marsh in upstate NY. We heard at least 5 or 6 but this is the only one that showed itself.
