3D Eyepieces (1 Viewer)

Binastro

Well-known member
Denkmeier unveils its most unique eyepiece set.

$599 for the pair list.

L O A 21 that simulates a 3D view in a scope with binoviewers.

The Active eyepiece is rotated. Six levels of 3D depth are possible.

65 deg fields.

Reported in Sky and Telescope Feb 2016.

The post on Cooke movie lenses with video might be relevant?

Is spherical aberration being used??

See Denkmeier website.

Hi,

hm... simulated 3D... not sure if that's so great... it will either put objects in the center closer or farther away than the rest... depending on setting.

Certainly not for terrestial viewing. Not sure about astro. I love a 3D effect in porros and would also love to have a monster bino for watching birds from the balcony, but our view of the sky is 2D and the effect from this gizmo is totally artificial and says nothing about the real distances of the objects...
