Saw it last week in a wetland near Tehran, north of Iran. The bird didn't make any sound.
Is it identifiable? Maybe a (Caspian) Reed Warbler?

Many thanks

Well it's an unstreaked Acro, with a short pp (c50% of overlying tertials), and looking at image 1. on blow up there is a ''suggestion'' (rightly or wrongly or artefact) of an emargination within the tertial area? If that is the case then I'm thinking that Caspian Reed Warbler is a non-starter, and that Clamorous Reed Warbler ''might'' be a better candidate?

Cheers

I really ought to go and measure some reed stem diameters, but I get the feeling the stems in the full-size pic are slightly thicker than in real life; that would make the bird (15 cm on screen) = approx 13-14 cm in real life, or roughly Common Reed / Marsh size, and not Clamorous (18 cm).
