Adapter for Swarovski 25-50 Zoom (1 Viewer)

A very simple & cheap adapter for use with the Nikon 1V1, 18.5 f1.8 lens which gives you a range of 1200 to 2500.

You need to remove the eyepiece eyecup, & have a method for supporting your camera.

Purchase a 40.5 - 46mm step up ring costing about £5, together with a 46mm extension ring or 46mm filter with the glass taken out. The important thing is that if your step up ring has a 2.40mm depth of thread, the dimension you need for end of threads to eyepiece glass is 6.00mm or 4.80mm to the end of the eyepiece. You may need to put one layer of insulation tape onto the perimeter of the eyepiece (second diameter down) to tighten up the end of the 46mm extension ring. Thats it adapter made.

Another option is to make use of the 25-50 Zoom eye cup. You unscrew the eye cup & knock out the two retaining pins. You now use the outer part of the eye cup. Remove the rubber completely & add (super glue) a 52mm extension ring. You may need to reduce the end of the eye cup slightly to get a good fit. Add some insulation tape to the outer diameter so that it is a snug fit with the eyepiece. (see photo I have added some red tape) Add a 52mm extension ring & a 40.5-52mm stepping ring.

For safe working for camera support you can use a Baader Microstage 2 or a Bushnell Universal adapter.

With a stepping ring thread depth of 2.60mm you need to achieve a distance of 5.00 mm to the end of the eyepiece or 6.20mm to the eyepiece glass. (measured from the top of the stepping ring threads)

Currently I use a Swarovski DCB bracket to support the camera but the Baader or Bushnell should do the same. Good luck
