Hi,
I'm Bunny and I'm here in the suburbs of Phoenix, Az. I have an apartment with nice patio dimensions--6x8 ft. According to the complex, I can have 3 flowerpots on my patio, so I figure I'll go large. I already have 2 pots that are about 14" around and I'll be getting a second rolling base, too. I figure I'll get the best hummingbird plants I can find at the nursery (including some columbine like my grandma had in her garden.). Because nothing is allowed to be hanging, I was thinking of putting a shallow birdbath in there as well, maybe something that stakes into one of the pots. The question is:. It's incredibly hot here, regularly in the 110s to 120s and I don't accidentally want to burn little hummingbird feet. I've read they don't have capillaries in their feet, but still, I worry. I'm open and appreciative for all suggestions. (The birdbath has to be able to evaporate every day as so not to attract scorpions and cockroaches....or breeding mosquitoes.). Thanks so much!
