Lots of Dunlins at Alvor but not so many Curlew Sandpipers. These look to have a slightly longer, more curved bill than Dunlin. Also a reasonably visible supercilium. So are they Curlew Sandpipers?

Hello,

I agree with you, all birds seems to have features of Curlew Sandpiper:

  • first: long supercilium, long wings and jizz ??? (please compare to the Dunlin??? in the back)
  • second: the same features and the peachy-buff hue of the juvenile plumage on the cheeks ???
  • the last one is the most difficult to me. I get the feeling, that I havent enough experience with winter plumaged Curlew SP .

I hope for more comments and the excellent picture aided comment from Peter/smiths came into my mind again. Thanks again and you know what would be "ein Träumchen"?
