Good morning folks
Here's another 3 pics from Costa Rica, which I have had a guess at but still not sure about....
As always, all help very gratefully received.
6583 - Dusky-capped Flycatcher?
6639 - Dusky-capped Flycatcher?
6667 - Steely-vented Hummingbird?

39 at least is a plausible dusky capped candidate. The hummer was split from steely vented

1 and 2 look better for Nutting's to me rather than Dusky-capped. Cap is more or less concolour with mantle (looks darker in pic 1 due to it being raised and shadows at base of feathers visible), throat is very white and edging on secondaries/tertials is very clean and extensive white.

Thank you for this. Funny, was discussing these 2 pics with a birding guy I know in CR and he wasn't sure...but was edging towards Brown-crested (owing to tail colour).......but he was also thinking the pics might be of 2 different species.

Brown-crested can be eliminated right off the bat by virtue of the smaller, flatter bill more typical of Dusky-capped/Nutting's.
