Mrs Ellinor Catherine van Someren née Macdonald (1915–at least 1974) was the wife of the describer, Dr G. R. C. van Someren (b.1913), who worked for the East Africa Research Unit in Kenya. She made an outstanding contribution in the field of medical entomology, having worked in the Medical Research Laboratories, Nairobi (1935–1973). She wrote c.40 scientific papers.
