Avian Optics (1 Viewer)

Hi all, does anyone know who manufactures the binoculars marketed in the UK as, "Avian Optics"?
I have seen them being sold by Ace Optics of Bath, just wondered if they are a generic Chinese glass that is marketed with various retailers "own brand" or a standalone brand.
TIA

They are / were a branded range exclusive to Ace Optics, going since the 80s at least. Most likely manufactured in China as you suggest.

I'm currently thoroughly enjoying a pair of their newly released Avian Ultralite ED 8x42 binoculars. Made in Japan, super build quality, super optics, very lightweight, fit me like a glove (with glasses) and I'm struggling to put them down. An absolute bargain at £299 IMO. Not the widest field of view, but otherwise outstanding.

Avians in 8x42 and 10x50 from Ace Optics were my first 'proper' binoculars about 24 years ago when I returned to birding, and before I disappeared down the Optics Rabbit hole and damaged my brain and finances with obsession. They were excellent binoculars, held their own against 'alphas', lovely build, I never had any problems with them. FOV a bit narrow compared to more expensive models.

I've just learned that there's an 8x32 version of the Ultralite ED on the way which weighs in at just 390g (that's 70g lighter than an 8x30 SFL, I believe). If it performs as well as the 8x42 it'll be a little cracker and another MIJ bargain!

Correction, I completely misunderstood. There are no Ultralite ED x32's on the horizon any time soon, just the non ED x32 Ultralite (entirely different model) which is already in stock and on sale at Ace Optics. Apologies!
