Bird call identification please (1 Viewer)

Finlayson

Nowadays I prefer a glass of wine.
UK - Bird call identification please

I visit RSPB Lakenheath on a regular basis.

I need some assistance with one bird call I keep on hearing, it is not a beardie which I know well.

It is a single call that sounds like '' A metal rod being hit into the ground with a metal hammer ''.

Thanks in advance,

John Finlayson.

John's original post says he's familiar with Beardy and it wasn't one - having said that, it sounds like a perfect description of one!

Must have missed that bit about him saying it's not a Beardie. Does still sound like one though.

On accessing the RSPB Site : Coot : I can confirm that the call I was seeking is the second part of the call ... called in isolation. my description was quite close.

( I am not greatly experienced on Bird calls so apologies for my newby question ).

Thanks to contributors ..... John Finlayson
