Hi,

There were a few of these little birds flying like flycatchers over a lake ... does anybody know what they are? The photos are frames from a video.

Hi Catherine,

Your birds are Warbling Vireos. They can be very noticeable around many freshwater ponds at this time of year.
 
Agree on Warbling Vireo. Ottawa is the northern limit of their normal range according to my Sibley's. Congrats on the lifer!
