took these outside my front door this morning - sorry for the poor quality, gray skies and all...

This one has a wing bar but couldn't get much of the head...

I've looked through four or five field guides and haven't been able to come up with anything approaching an educated guess yet....

Any ideas?
 
I agree with Scott. However, your location is very close to the range boundary for Lesser Goldfinch. But I think the distinct wing bars and white under tail coverts make these American.

Aha! Yes, Kaufman's has a photo showing the underside of the tail which matches that fourth picture I linked very well.
