Bird of Prey Challenge (2 Viewers)

Parabuteos lad

Well-known member
For 2012 i have decided to challenge myself to photograph as many if not all UK birds of prey. im currently on a mere 5:
1. Buzzard
2. Kestrel
3. Peregrine Falcon (pair in flight)
4. Sparrow Hawk
5. Tawny Owl

i consider those above to be 5 of the easiest to find as they are more common. Next i will be looking for SE Owls, Barn Owls and Marsh harrier.
i will go to Martin Mere in search of Marsh harrier which will mean there is also the chance of Merlin, Hen Harrier, SE Owl and Barn Owl.
im relatively new to birdwatching and will be investing in a Digi Scope at the end of the month. im also hoping to knock a few species up at parkgate marsh during a spring tide (anyone know when one is?)

Ahh, yes if they are city-dwellers then of course. I just never really think of raptors in the concept having only ever monitored them in rural locations.

Presumably if the pair is in Liverpool and he is no closer than other passers by there is no issue. If not then there might be.

What setup are you using?

I doubt I'm better but I may have better kit. Good plan. I'll do that. Perhaps one of the mods could split my stuff out from this thread (please!)

Good birding

John
